The Faculty of Economics and Administration is hosting the DOSM Micro Data under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between University of Malaya and DOSM. The micro data (in SPSS, STATA, and/or Excel format) available are:
Labour Force Survey (Penyiasatan Tenaga Buruh/Survei Tenaga Buruh)
- Starting from year 1982 (every 3 years)
- Micro data is available for the following years: 1982, 1985, 1988, 1997, 2000, 2003, 2006, 2009, 2012, 2015, 2018, 2021
- 30% of the total records of household members who are in the working age of 15 to 64 years (30% daripada jumlah rekod ahli isi rumah yang berada dalam umur bekerja 15 hingga 64 tahun)
Salaries and Wages Survey (Survei Gaji dan Upah)
- Starting from year 2010 (every 3 years)
- Micro data is available for the following years: 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019
- 30% of the total records of household members who are in the working age of 15 to 64 years (30% daripada jumlah rekod ahli isi rumah yang berada dalam umur bekerja 15 hingga 64 tahun)
Household Income Survey (Penyiasatan Pendapatan Isi Rumah)
- Micro data is available for the following years: 2007, 2009, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2019, 2022
- 30% of the number of households with 22 variables (30% daripada bilangan isi rumah dengan 22 variabel)
Household Expenditure Survey (Penyiasatan Perbelanjaan Isi Rumah)
- Micro data is available for the following years: 1998/99, 2004/05, 2009/10, 2014, 2016, 2019, 2022
- 30% of the number of households with the number of variables according to the year of survey (30% daripada bilangan isi rumah dengan bilangan variabel mengikut tahun penyiasatan)
Population and Housing Census Malaysia (Banci Penduduk dan Perumahan Malaysia)
- Micro data is available for the following years: 1980, 1991, 2000, 2010
- 2% of the total population data of Malaysia (2% daripada keseluruhan data populasi Malaysia)
Annual Survey of Manufacturing Industries (Penyiasatan Pembuatan Tahunan)
- Starting from Malaysia Standard Industrial Classification (MSIC) year 2000 and 2008 (every 3 years)
- Micro data is available for the following years: 2003, 2006, 2009, 2012, 2015
- 30% of the unweighted total individual establishments (30% daripada jumlah pertubuhan individu tanpa wajaran)

Please fill in the Data Request Form, complete the Letter Of Undertaking (Surat Aku Janji), and send to Dr. Lai Siow Li (laisl@um.edu.my). Please refer to the terms and conditions of use for DOSM data in Attachment A (Lampiran A).

Data disposal and research paper/report submission procedure:
At the end of the study period, please complete the Letter Of Data Disposal (Surat Hapus Data) and Letter Of Report Submission (Surat Penyerahan Laporan) and send to Dr. Lai Siow Li (laisl@um.edu.my), together with the softcopy and hardcopy (submit it to FEA academic office) of your research paper/report.
